There are several exercises that can help to tone your abs. The following is a 10 minute workout routine. The first exercise is to perform the basic curls for two minutes. To go about this workout, lie on your back with your knees bent. Place your fingertips at your ears and strictly use your stomach muscles to lift your head and chest about five to six inches from the floor.  Rest for 30 seconds and then do cross-curls for two minutes. This workout normally begins with the basic curl position. Contract your stomach muscles and bring your right elbow to your left knee. When done, switch and then bring your left elbow to the right knee.

Rest for 30 seconds and then do the ‘bicycle’ exercise for two minutes. You should begin with the basic curl position but prop your upper body on your elbows. Straighten your legs and then raise them a few inches from the floor. Pull your right leg towards your body and then extend it as you pull your left leg. You can do several repetitions before resting for 30 seconds.

After the short break, perform what is referred to as ‘climb the rope’ for two minutes. To go about this, begin with the basic curl position. Raise your legs straight up while keeping your upper body on the floor. Use your abdominal muscles to lift your upper back, use your hands and arms as if you are climbing a rope.

You can finish this workout by stretching the abdominal muscles. Lie on your stomach with your hands raised to about the height of your shoulders. Slowly lift your upper body and stretch the abdominal muscles. This 10 minute workout routine can help to tone your abs.
