When it comes to deciding on an intensity workout DVD, it really comes down to what works best with your determination to get fit. So many of these programs are designed for the person who really wants to work hard to see results in the shortest amount of time. Many times, they come in a series with other targeted programs as well, with this being the main attraction of the entire set.
Workouts like Taebo and various cardio workouts are extremely popular with this group, because they are very much into the team-building mindset. When you work out with a group of people in a body combat class, you tend to form a collective mindset of “We can do this!” When you do finish the class and collapse in happy satisfaction and exhaustion, then you feel a great sense of accomplishment.
This only increases your desire to come back and do it again because you want that feeling of a challenge, followed by the reward of beating it. Attempting to do something like this that you’re unsure of when you begin, makes you feel like a winner just for finishing the class without quitting. Even the smallest results will keep you energized for the next class, in anticipation of how much you will be able to do next time.
One thing to keep in mind however, is that you need to keep your workout in line with your abilities. If you are pushing yourself to the limit, and keeping up with the video instructor, then that is great news for you. However, if you are pushing yourself to the limit and keep finding yourself a few steps behind, then that is great news too. The most important thing is that you get the workout that is the safest and best for you personally. If you are giving your all, and feeling the results of that workout, then that is what you should strive for.
Keeping the programs consistent and getting into a routine will give your body the best chance to continue to progress and allow you to do more and more. Building up your endurance takes time, but it is something that is measureable every time you work out. If you can work out at a really high level for five minutes one week, and then ten minute the next, you are seeing results and that should let you know that what you are doing is working for your body.
Whichever intensity workout DVD you choose, be positive and don’t let the naysayers keep you from trying. You never know what you can accomplish until you put your mind to it, and fitness is mostly a mind game anyway. Once you make the mental decision to be fit and healthy, the only one who can stop you from reaching that goal is you. Be determined, focus on the goal and do your best!
