We may finally soon discover the truth about aliens and UFOs – but it all boils down to whether Hillary Clinton is voted US President or not.

The Democratic candidate for the top job has told a journalist that she plans to “get to the bottom” of the conspiracies surrounding extraterrestrial life.

Quite how she goes about that is unclear, although she reportedly promised to send a task force to Area 51 – the notorious and highly secretive military base in Nevada that has long been rumoured to be testing alien technologies.

Mrs Clinton – who would be the first female President if elected at the end of this year – may know just how many people are desperate to find out the truth.

A staggering 77% of Americans apparently believe that aliens have already visited Earth – and they believe there is even proof.

And it’s not just Clinton that wants the conspiracy exposed – her campaign chairman, John Podesta, has already called for the release of classified UFO files.

He tweeted last year: “Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the #disclosure of the UFO files. #the truthisstilloutthere.”

He added: “The American people can handle the truth.”

Mrs Clinton said of her campaign chief: “He has made me personally pledge we are going to get the information out.

“One way or another. Maybe we could have a task force go to Area 51.”

Mrs Clinton’s husband – former President Bill Clinton – previously dismissed the notion of alien life.

He told US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel last year: “There are no aliens there (Area 51).”

However, his wife seems to be a believer, responding: “I think we may have been (visited already).

“We don’t know for sure.”

Sounds like the only way to find out is to vote Hillary in 2016.
